Calamari is a cloud-based people management software solution designed to simplify attendance management and time-off tracking. As earlier mentioned, the Calamari software provides two modules. The Leave Management module is suitable for businesses or organizations that require a comprehensive leave management system with the ability to calculate PTO (personal time off) automatically and to work seamlessly with services such as Slack, Google Apps, Jira, and much more in order to provide accurate absence calendars. The module automates the leave application and approval process. Employees can use the smartphone-based apps to request for leaves and receive an automated response (either positive or negative) subject to the company’s leave policy. Thus, the Leave Management module facilitates leave-related workflows so as to allow HR departments, and entire organizations, to improve and accelerate the process. Automation of entitlement accumulation and absence requests approval makes the entire process more efficient and practical. Employees also get convenient access to their leave history via their mobile apps. Built based on user feedback, the module is intuitive and requires little to no training. The second module, the Calamari Clock In/Clock Out, is an innovative HR solution that provides a wide range of personnel clocking methods. Its aim is to improve employee productivity by monitoring and documenting their attendance and work time. It is a simple, no-frills system that only requires users to click a web browser button, scan a QR code, enter a Slack command, or use iBeacons (which are similar to ship beacons) to automate a clock in or clock out process. Additionally, the iBeacon electronic device links to employees' Calamari smartphone apps and can, therefore, determine whether or not they are present on location. Therefore, it has the ability to clock employees in or out. Workers can also remotely request for changes in their available timesheets as needed.
