TripIt is a travel app that creates a master itinerary to organize all of your plans for your vacation or work trip in one spot. To create the itinerary, you simply forward all of your travel confirmation emails to a TripIt email address, or have the app automatically connect to your email accounts to gather all of the pertinent information. The app then does the rest of the work by compiling all of this information into one itinerary. Once your itinerary is created, you are able to view it from any device, whether online or offline. TripIt is available for Apple, Android and Blackberry devices, and you can use the free version or upgrade to a paid pro version that includes some extra features. The app does a good job of analyzing travel emails for the relevant information to add it to your itinerary. If something is added incorrectly, you can easily go back and edit it. While it is convenient that TripIt includes street maps, airport terminal maps, and other maps, the maps feature could use some improvement. First, the maps tool does not automatically use your travel details to find the location on the map. Also, you cannot search the local maps on the app for activities or other locations. Instead, you have to visit the TripIt website for this feature. Another downside of signing up for the TripIt app is you get an email every time an item is added to your itinerary. Also, any of your friends on social media with a TripIt account can view some of the details of your itinerary. Both of these problems can be fixed with a simple change in your settings on the TripIt website, however. The Pro version of the TripIt provides some additional features, such as a Seat Tracker to find you the best seat on an airplane. All in all, the uniqueness of the service provided by TripIt makes it worth a try when planning your next trip.

This app/Web-based software is fraught with bugs. I am required to regarly uninstall/install the android version. The interface between the app and the browser are superficially similar, but there are many differences. But, beware. This app is very buggy. I have found that a simple process that should take a matter of seconds can result in hours of work.I dread using the software because it is just so flakey. Save your money and look for an alternative. This thing is a nightmare. I am looking for a viable, reliable alternative.
