UNetbootin Reviews

UNetbootin is a live USB creator. This means that you can place a Linux distribution such as Ubuntu on a USB drive and use it to run the OS without having to install the operating system on a computer. It is also possible to use the USB you have created to install the distribution on the hard drive of a computer system. This is a cross-platform utility that will work on Windows, MacOS, or Linux. UNetbootin utilizes Syslinux to create a non-destructive install that will not format the hard drive of a device. All that is required once the USB has been created is to insert it in a computer's USB drive and boot the system from that drive. The user can then run the operating system of whichever distribution they have placed on the USB without making changes to the hard drive of the device. UNetbootin can also be used to create USB drives that will load BackTrack, Ophcrack, and other utilities. It is even possible for users to place their own Linux .iso file on the USB. This utility is a powerful way for individuals to experience Linux without using a CD to run or install an operating system. This utility is advantageous for individuals with a computer that does not have an optical drive. It can also allow individuals to carry a portable operating system wherever they go. Data obtained while using the bootable USB can be stored on the USB drive along with the operating system.

unetbootin killed 2 pc's of mine. it's taken buying an older windows computer to get the jump drive fixed, to then be able to fix the other 2 pc's. it was ok, but when i shut down my pc's with an iso file on the desktop to make bootable the next day? when i went back the next day? ridiculously my pc's imploded. this sucked so bad..i am to gd old to have to do so many mental gymnastics to get my stuff back online! use rufus or some other option..unetbootin had a meltdown & took my stuff with it.
