Simple is an online bank that is designed to make banking as modern as possible. It includes a whole suite of tools designed to show you exactly how much you're spending, categories to make it easy to see where you're over-spending, and goals so you can save for that dream vacation you've always wanted. Both the website and the app (iOS & Android) are dead simple to use and fully featured, so you don't have to feel like a dinosaur when you need to access the app on the go. In fact, Simple's mobile app rivals finance management tools like Mint and Goodbudget and makes them redundant. The other significant benefit of Simple is that they won't nickel and dime you to death with fees. Account balance fees, overdraft fees, account maintenance fees, if you feel like you're paying more to your bank than you're saving then Simple is probably a good choice. The caveat here is because Simple doesn't charge a whole slew of fees, the only way they make money is through the interest margin on cash you store with them. That means their customer offered interest rate is a paltry 0.01%, which is pitiful even when compared to other online banks who offer interest rates as high as 1.5%. But if you're okay with not earning interest on the cash you keep with Simple, then the free bill pay, lack of fees, and software that lets you set up and follow a budget makes this online bank entirely worth it. It even supports popular mobile payment methods like Google Pay and Apple Pay, so you don't have to use your card when you're out and about. Simple currently only handles personal accounts, so people looking to use them for business purposes are out of luck for now.
