Navmii
Navmii was first launched in 2010 as Navfree, a free navigation app for iPhones. Since that release, more than 20 million iPhone and Android users have downloaded Navfree or Navmii. This app descended from OneStreetMap, a project founded in 2004 by physics student Steve Coast. He envisioned an interactive street map of Earth built through opensource methods. Map enthusiasts joined the Wikipedia-style movement and helped Coast realize his vision. Today, Coast sits on Navmii's Strategic Board. Navmii offers users community-based navigation and traffic information for the streets of 85 countries. Among the app's features, one finds voice-guided navigation, local search, live traffic details, driver scores and points of interest. Significantly, the app stores maps on the user's phone and enables navigation without an internet connection.

Due to regular updates and its developers' industry experience, Navmii runs smoothly on iPhones and Androids. Anyone familiar with a GPS interface can easily understand and use Navmii's maps. Navmii drivers can spend less time sitting in traffic than other apps' users due to its diverse real-time traffic information. The app also lets drivers easily share updates about traffic jams, police activity, accidents, construction delays, safety cameras and road hazards through its Driving Community menu. Further, Navmii offers a night mode with large symbols that users can opt to safely project onto their lower windshields for heads-up, attentive driving. Unlike other apps in this category, Navmii includes local speed limits and safety-camera warnings. The app's makers could reasonably add a Patreon link for drivers who want to thank the company for helping them avoid speeding tickets! This app deserves a try from anyone who loves to explore the road efficiently and safely.
