Reeder is a great piece of software for anyone who needs an easy-to-use RSS reader. In particular, it works in conjunction with Google Reader. After downloading Reeder, you're prompted to log into your Google account. Then, it asks for your permission to become your default RSS reader. Reeder makes a great default RSS reader thanks to its elegant look. Overall, it's far cleaner and easier to use than other RSS readers on the market. It's also fully customizable. You can take complete control over the layout of your feeds. You can change the color of the font and the layout of the columns. The fact that Reeder works so closely with Google Reader is a huge plus. It makes it possible to manage all of your feeds without the need to touch Google Reader. In fact, these two RSS readers are synced, so making changes in one reader is reflected in the other. For example, if you mark an article as read in Reeder, it will be marked read in Google Reader as well. While it's a simple feature, it's a nice touch. Reeder also allows you to read feeds on the actual web pages. When you click on an article, it opens within a web browser within the app. This is nice because it allows you to read the articles on the websites and in the intended format. Reeder also makes searching your RSS feeds easy. You can search by a word, phrase, name or a particular feed. Once you find the article that you're looking for, you can easily share it to your social media profiles such as Twitter, Evernote, Delicious and Pinterest. The bottom line is that Reeder is a great way for you to reach your RSS feeds in style. While the program isn't free, it's well worth the price. It will provide many more features than what you get with Google's RSS reader.
