Creating content on Wordpress websites is much easier with TinyMCE. The software is offered as a plug-in for Wordpress that, when installed, replaces the default text editor. TinyMCE delivers a What You See is What You Get editor that is similar in many respects to word processing programs like Microsoft Word. It adds extra features that content creators will find useful in crafting blog posts, and it places all the commands in a compact set of toolbars. WYSIWYG editors are designed to accomplish a primary purpose. They allow users to create content in a manner that reflects how it will look when published. The default Wordpress editor also offers WYSIWYG functionality, but it can be hit or miss. Sometimes images and formatting don't transfer properly. TinyMCE does a much better job of letting creators format posts in the exact way they want them displayed. The only downside is that the interface is only presented in English. It is possible to obtain translations from the developer's website. Copy-and-paste functionality has been improved in this editor. It essentially cleans the items a user pastes into the editor, matching them to the desired format. Spell checking is performed as posts are being written, and suggestions for correct spelling are immediately provided. This can save a lot of time when writing. It is possible to use the editor to upload files from Google Drive, Amazon S3, and other file storage platforms. This alone makes the plug-in worth having. The default method requires users to upload media to the Wordpress platform. Being able to add directly from DropBox or other file hosts greatly simplifies the process of adding media. Users can even create their own skins for TinyMCE. Two versions of the software are available. The free version has an open-source license, while the paid plans allow multiple users. Paid subscriptions for the software can become expensive.
