Spokeo
Spokeo bills itself as the white pages of the internet and provides a platform for anyone to look up publicly available data from online and offline sources. The site was founded in 2006 and reported over 18 million users in 2015, even though a subscription service is required for most of the information available.
- Look up anyone with just a first and last name
- Reverse phone look up any number that calls
- Search previous owners of a particular address
- Find anyone by the email address they use
- Massive database of people
- Find anyone with their name, email address, or address
- Check to see what data is available about you online
- Free search is limited
- Only publicly available data
- Premium plans are expensive
Spokeo provides several avenues to identify a person online, but the free options for information are limited. You can look up a person by their first and last name, email address, or physical address, but to see the information you'll need to fork over some cash for a subscription. Spokeo's subscription starts at $13.95 for a one-month membership, or $7.95 per month if you pay for all three months up front. There's currently no way to see if the data you want for the person is available before you pay and Spokeo has no refund policy, so you're taking a gamble to see if you get the information you were after or not. Spokeo is also careful to note that the person you're searching for will not be alerted to your search since that seems to be a concern for people who might be interested in using the service. Overall, it's a pretty thorough database of publicly available information that will help you find anybody you're looking for, as long as you're willing to sign up for their money subscription service. You'll see social networks the person has joined, their family background, address history, phone number history, and more. It's also important to note that because Spokeo offers a recurring subscription service, you'll want to make sure you cancel it immediately upon obtaining the information you want. Otherwise, the subscription will continue to renew month after month even if you're not using the service.
