Amazon Fire TV
When it comes to entertainment these days, it is hard to find a device or app that has all of your favorite networks in one place. However, Amazon Fire TV might be just that. But does it live up to the hype, or is it all bark and no bite? Let us investigate further... So What Is It? By simply plugging this tiny box into the HDMI port on your television, it instantaneously makes any television a "Smart TV." From there, you will have access to all of the hottest streaming networks in the world such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, ESPN, HBO, Showtime, and many more. Amazon touts that the Fire Stick features a fast quad-core processor and expandable USB storage so you can also turn your device into a gaming machine. On top of that, the device is outfitted with a 2 GB memory and dedicated GPU so you won't have to worry about your favorite shows or movies lagging at the most important parts. But Does It Work? After spending some time with the Amazon Fire app, we decided to weigh the pros and cons of the device and see if it was worth a purchase. One of the main things we enjoyed about the product was that it was a hub for all of our favorite shows in one place. Whether we wanted to watch Stranger Things on Netflix, Handmaid's Tale on Hulu, Mr. Robot on Amazon Prime, or Game of Thrones on HBO...it was all right there at our fingertips. No more did we have to switch between devices or wait for our favorite shows to air, they were all right there and able to be switched between at the press of a button. Additionally, there were even a plethora of apps that we had never heard of, but will look into to see further entertainment options! On top of that, the interface and processing of actions was fast and sleek. In mere moments we switched from a Netflix show to a Hulu show with zero lag or loading in between. We had no problems or input lag when trying to pause or rewind our shows either. When it comes to the negatives of the device, there are not many major complaints. One thing to take note of is that Amazon states that this would be able to play games such as Minecraft, but when we tested it out we found the process to be more of a nuisance than an enjoyable gaming experience.
