Guerrilla Mail Reviews

Almost everyone is concerned about Internet safety today. Guerrilla Mail has seized on that apprehension to create a truly disposable email platform. The service was launched in 2006, but it has only grown in popularity following each security breach that is reported in the media. Everyone has their own reason for wanting an untraceable email address. Some people want to avoid massive spam emails in their inbox when they complete a registration to receive a free ebook or promotion. Some do not want spouses or other family members to know what has been purchased online. Guerrilla Mail works especially well for all of those situations and quite a few more. The interface is browser-based, so anyone with a web browser and an Internet connection can access the platform. All the user must do is navigate to the Guerrilla Mail website. There they will see a composer which lets them choose an email address, compose an email, and send it to another address. The user can scramble the address suggested by Guerrilla Mail to get another random one, or they can make up one of their own. Once the email has been sent, the email is retained for one hour before it is automatically deleted. The sender can, within that time frame, receive a reply from the original recipient. After the hour is up, the emails have been lost forever. There is no way to retrieve them, and Guerrilla Mail claims that they retain no logs of user activity. There has been some controversy attached to the program, namely the use of Guerrilla Mail by two college students to make bomb threats to Harvard. The FBI has since been known to use phishing attempts in order to discover those who are using the service for illicit activity.
