Map3 is a decentralised map network that is impartial, secure and extremely robust. Therefore, it is impractical to shut down like the BitTorrent and the Bitcoin network. Map3 is free from control, free to participate, free base map. It will be built to be governed by the global Map3 community where individuals and organisations of all levels can host Map3 nodes and provide useful map content to be distributed on the Map3 network.
