If it's hard for you to talk to people or it's hard to meet new people in your town because there's a lack of places to go, then this app is useful. You can search for people who live in your city and meet up with them at certain locations or look for locations that are the busiest so that there is a better chance of finding someone who shares similar interests. The app is more than just one that makes it easier to talk to someone on your mobile device. It's an app that brings people in a community together so that people are happier while doing the things that they enjoy. You can talk to the people you meet at the location on your device or have group conversations during and after the meeting. A map is featured on the app that lets you see where locations are in the town. There are several groups that you can join or browse, such as photography groups, groups for moms and groups for those who like to stay active. Search for locations to meet in a city, or search for specific types of people you want to meet up with if you want someone to talk to who does the same activities or who has the same kind of life that you have. Each category is depicted with a fun picture and a short description of the types of people you'll meet. There are events scheduled, such as bike races or events for new parents. All you have to do is join the event and show up on the day and at the designated time. Share pictures with each other, and comment about the activities of the day that you had together.
I tried to give them a zero, but this page won't let me. Meetups is the only so they have a monopoly and don't have to have any kind of customer service. It works great if you are able to get the sign up to work on the first try, but if you have any type of set up issues, there tech support is less than stellar. I have spent four days trying to get an invalid email that meetups pulled from Facebook. I do not remember recommend logging on to meetups with your Facebook account because it will get screwed up. Plus they share all of that information that they glean from Facebook.
