It's basically impossible to have not heard of Instagram if you've ever used a smartphone. The platform isn't too different from other social networking services like Facebook and Twitter, but this app focuses on sharing photos and videos. When you first install the app, it will ask you for access to various permissions on your device so it can operate at full capacity. For most mobile devices, the download is less than 100MB, which is exceptionally slim for any modern app. After the app has been successfully installed, you will either have to login with your Facebook account or create an Instagram account. You can also login with an existing Instagram account if you already have one but have deleted or otherwise lost the app. If you use your Facebook credentials, you'll be given the option to follow every friend you have on Facebook. This is quite helpful if you have a large group of friends and you want to add them all quickly. One of the reasons Instagram is so popular as a social networking platform is that it has multiple sharing methods all bundled into a single interface. It's essentially four separate apps grouped into the overarching Instagram shell. The four main apps within the app are the main photo-sharing platform that started it all, the live video streaming app, the Stories module that emulates a similar service from Snapchat, and the basic text messaging app that defers the use of any imagery beyond emojis. You can enter the primary camera mode by clicking the + button at the bottom of the main photo-sharing screen. You'll be able to take a fresh photo or select one to post from your gallery of saved images. You can also take a video from this camera mode by switching to the video mode. The app lets you adjust the flash, but it is limited to square photos. What's really fun about Instagram are the various filters and effects you can apply after you've selected the image to post. There are 23 striking filters, and you can adjust the strength of each filter. The editing tools include a lighting autocorrection function, leveling and rotating tools, and a Vignette tool. Saturation, Structure, Warmth, Contrast, and Brightness are all adjustable thanks to the various simple tools, and you can use the Color tool to add highlights or shadows in a specific color tone. Instagram is the industry standard for photo-based social networking.
After instagram became a facebook company, i do not like it and are looking for alternatives, dumped facebook so it is time to dump instagram aswell. Been to many bad changes with algoritms and facebook itself is a very very very shady company with to many big disasters under its "belt". I hope instagram, facebook and youtube burn in a fire one day. They were good once, not anymore for the "little people".
