Functional screen capture utilities have always been missing from both Windows and the MacOS. Snagit fills the gap very well if you are a Windows user. It serves up the ability to capture almost anything. Whole web pages, video games, and images are just some of the things you can grab with this nifty software. It supports seven different file types including JPG, PNG, and PDF. Snagit is very easy to use. After the install of the software, a tutorial is provided which explains the program's numerous features. The home screen lets users choose what kind of screen capture they would like to make. They can opt to copy the full screen, export screen grabs to PDF format, and even use a time delay to free draw areas they want to capture. A quick toolbar is provided by the software. This isn't especially unique, but it's ability to integrate with Word and other Office programs makes it special. Users can simply add the toolbar to Word or Excel to make screen grabs as they work. The preview window is very nice. It gives users a thumbnail of whatever area the cursor is over. The image is zoomed so it is easier to see. There is even a feature which lets users create a web page from their screen captures. Snagit has a batch converter which allows for the conversion of multiple captures to a single format. It is even possible to add the same border to all of the files selected. The primary downfall of the program is that configuring it to work with email can be time consuming and complex. Once done, however, users can share their screen captures in an email.
